since they were so cheap I couldnt pass them up... after I ordered them I thought hmmm I hope they will work on my bike haha....
Its an 07 streetbob with carlini drag bars... Im ASSUMING that when I take the current grips off there will be a sleeve that I can glue these rubber grips to? If so what sort of glue do I use? If these dont work Im not all that mad they cost a whopping 12 bucks with shipping...
has anyone put on "old school" grips on their "modern" bike on here? How did you do it? How did you glue it? Thanks
Nice looking grips. They look similar to the HD nostalgic grips seen here http://*******.com/2g37r36but they are a lot more expensive than the ones you got. I have only replaced my stock grips with Harley ones and the throttle had the sleeve built into the grip. Not sure what you need to do to get those to work.
Ahh I just noticed those grips you bought were for 7/8 inch bars. The stock bars on our 07 Street Bobs are 1 inch. Are your Carlini bars skinnier than the stock bars?

Thanks for the replies guys... the price doesn't bother me... if I get them and they look like crap then I'm out $10... not that bad... I didn't order them because they were cheap... I ordered them because I like the look of them... they may or may not look like crap I don't know yet... Personally I think the $80 HD flame grips that my $10,000 bike came with look like crap, thus why I'm looking to change...
Why would you put a $7.50 pair of grips on a $15,000 motorcycle? Even if they do 'fit' they're goin to look like trash!
Pretty obvious isn't it we spent that much money on a Harley and now we're trying to save a few pennies elsewhere... I bought some knockoff old school grips for mine the are aluminum with a few rebber bands on them and they cost me a whopping 24.95 cause they were "defect" products but you can't tell... If money grows on trees for you great but don't tell somebody their Harley is gonna look like trash just because you waste your money(or don't like their style)... I think they will look good as long as they fit... Also I used gorilla glue for mine and grafite on the throttle side...
