I was told not to set the idle lower than 1000rpm, at least 900s. Lower than that the oil can't get pumped up to the top. That goes for carb n injection bikes.
With FuelPak equipped bikes you can add 1 or 2 points at Value 17 and knock the idle down 50-150 RPMs . I wouldnt want to go any lower cuz where I live I have to pull out on a 4 lane and low idle settings tend to try and stall when called upon quickly.
I myself doubt that bob is at 6oo....... mine sounds the same @ 912 after warm up...
The Efi need warm up time to finish and set final idle and AFR .....
i was also curious about this cause a buddy of mines 08 nightster lopes a lot lower than my 06 Bob. A few days ago i was looking to lower the idle just a bit and i found what looks to be a mechanical idle adjustment but requires a special security star looking tool.
Currently i have a Stage 1 so i dont have that idle adjustment option, has anyone lowered idle using this mechanical stop???
if you are talking about the screw in the back of you're se air intake i took this all the way off it doesn't change a thing.
You won't a low idle? Dump the ECM all together. Don't spend a penny on a Thundermax. Buy an S&S carb kit and a Thunderheart ignition and convert that baby back to the way it should be. CARBED!!
Has nothing to do with the fact the motor is fuel injected... it's oil pressure. Install a high pressure high volume pump and you can probably lower the idle....
however... yeah... it doesn't have quite the 'old lope' sound.... but there's no mistaking what I'm riding...
