I've been talking with the local Indy about doing some work on my bike. Looking like we'll be going to a 103", do a lil head work, and getting some good cams.
He said the pipes I have (Screaming Eagle Torque Slip On) will choke out a lot of the performance upgrade and that I need to go with new pipes.
The problem I have is I don't want too much volume. I had some SE pipes with Cycle Shack baffles but they were a bit loud (and maybe high pitched)
The SE Torque slip-ons I have are PERFECT. Louder and deeper than stock...yet relatively quiet compared to other systems.
So if I am to get another set that won't kill my performance I'd like to get one that is not too loud.
However, I am guessing that lower volume equates to restricted air and thus am right back where I started?
Does anyone have suggestions on how I can get the best of both worlds...low volume and low restriction?

I'm curious to know what "SE Torque slip ons" are as I'm not familiar with the term. Were they an older model of SE muffler or just a generic name for the SE slip ons?

I think they only sold them for one year back in 2000? I think these are them.
the supermeg is an awesome pipe. Good and quiet compared to lots of systems out there. Also the thunderheader is a good volume pipe. I prefer the thunderheader for sound quality and looks. The good thing about any long 2-1 is all the exhaust comes out behind you which makes any pipe more quiet to the rider than having it blast out right next to you.
