Yup. The color is an absolute trip. When in the shade it looks blue. When the sun hits it, it looks metalic flake blue with a purple tint. Look at it in the sun at a certain angle and it look purple alone.
They call it "Black" ice pearl because at certain angle it looks black. If you look at the rear fender of the shot of my bike, the top of the fender looks black.
Every different angle shows a different color. The only thing I would change regarding the paint is the two pin stripes on the tank which are purple. The stripes would look killer black.
I get a ton of looks and questions on if the paint is aftermarket. A camera just does not do the color justice.
The Black Ice Pearl color of my 2010 FXDC was one of the things that made me chose that particular bike. Love it! Everyplace I go now I get questions about the color being original or custom and compliments about the way my bike looks. After 11 years with a sport bike that not many noticed it's kinda nice to have a ride that brings this attention. one thing though, when I registered the bike the dealer put the color black on the registration. I can't imagine how I'm gonna explain that the first time I get pulled over.
That color is awesome, totally different from what I see around here. My 09 Denim Silver SB is the only one I've seen in person in my area. Everyone has black or denim black around here so my silver kinds stands out. But that Black Ice Pearl would stand out anywhere, it looks great!
One thing I've noticed about Black Ice Denim/Pearl paints is that they look a lot bluer in the pictures and a lot more purplish under the sun. I love purple, so I love my BID FXDB.
Ditto. I've only seen one other BID Street Bob in my area, and that was at the dealer. All Black otherwise.
