Premium Fuel vs Regular with ethanol
I have always run 93 octane premium fuel with ethanol in my bike...

1st does ethanol hurt your engine?
2nd premium or regular?
ethanol is pure grain alcohol with 5%gasoline added to it to keep people from drinking it. It is the same crap that goes around in a mason jar at local get-togethers in this part of the country, minus the gasoline.
when added to gasoline, ethanol increases the octane rating but reduces the thermal efficiency of whatever octane gasoline it is added to.
What that means is: if you buy 87 octane gas it is now 89 octane. if you buy 89 octane gas it is now 89 octane and you just paid ten cents more per gallon for the exact same stuff as the regular 87 pump. if you buy 93 octane it may be 96 octane or it may have been cooled to 93 by the loader (truck driver) by adding 87 octane to the blend.
10% ethanol doesn't appear to do any harm to any of the rubber or gaskets in older engines and their fuel lines. stronger blends are not as promising as the farmers are hoping for but it is being pushed in certain parts of the country, like it or not.
ethanol is a bad deal, it raises the price of other foods like steak because the ranchers now have to compete with the moonshiners for corn. it is less efficient than gasoline in an internal combustion engine. it utilizes a vast amount of an ever-dwindling supply of farmland, pushing other food crops out for higher profits producing energy.
to the guys that run 91 or 92 octane in their area: don't sweat it, some folks don't realize each part of the country has a different scam going on between the oil refinery, the state house, and your local gas station.

Try and find anything above 91 at our elevation. When can I expect my "very bad things" to begin.
Just sayin"
For the time being... I think we have a couple of gas stations in our area that sell non ethanol gasoline... I'm gonna use them as much as possible...
