Well, there has been plenty of questions on oil and I was wondering about the filters everyone uses. I have switch oil but still use the Harly filter. What other options are available? Is there an auto filter that would fit in a pinch?
Walmart supertech filters are made by Champion. Think a twincam is ST6607 (I would double check before using.). Wix filter is 51348 for my 02 Roadking. Although, I always use the Harley Chrome filter myself. (At $15.00 its the cheapest piece of chrome on the bike). Wix filters can be purchased at O'Reilly's Auto Parts.
Not sure if you have Advance Auto Parts, but I realized after looking through the regular oil and filter areas they keep the motorcycle stuff in a different area and they carry K&N filters as well as Valvoline V-Twin and Mobil1 V-Twin oil.
Thanks Guys, I do have an advanced. I was wondering what else was out there, I did find a chrome filter(do not need chrome) at Pep boys once (forgot Brand) but it was $2-3 more then the Harley filter so I went back to using them but down to my last one and was interested in what options I had.
I use WIX, in fact I have switched to WIX in my tractor, wifes truck, harley and my truck will convert to when I finish up the case of Toyota filters I'm trying to use up. I've used fram and others in the past but I'm personally not going to spend the mula on hd filters for one reason, WIX makes filters and they have pretty good product, they make filters for name brand companies as well, Harley does not make filters, so might very well be a WIX filter painted up with Harley emblazed on it for 3 times the price.
As a bonus, since I got a streetbob, my filter is black, I really don't want a white, or orange filter on a black and chrome bike.
My other top pick would be amsoil since I use a majority of their lube products.
