I've searched and read several threads on this mod. I see that the wires have to be spliced. I hate to cut into a wiring harness. Can anyone tell me what it would take to make an extension with plugs on both ends?
I'm thinking about putting the horn under the swingarm. I see a thread where someone has done that and it looked like it was hidden pretty well.
extend the wires and use posilock connectors http://www.customdynamics.com/posilock_connectors.htm
Or just go to ace hardware and get marine connectors. The marine connectors are shrink wrap with glue that makes a watertight seal after crimping. I use both products and never had a wiring problem with them at all.
Thanks, I decided to take it apart and see what type plug it has. Turns out it is not a plug at all. With the horn installed, reaching around the wires felt like some kind of "Double plug" Simply two 90* spade connectors. So it is just a matter of finding some of them, 2 male 2 female. Looks better already.
Gonna have to put my seat on and make a run after some plugs. First sunny day here for a couple weeks. Sure hope she starts!
