Funny about the shield...on half of the muffler brackets on the inside of the shield, they were too small to fit their hose clamps! Just another reason....
Trying to get the baffles out tonight! Then we'll see what I can salvage of this deal. Love the posts, and everyone's helpful and insightfullness. Gotta love the support on this forum!!
Well now, I must say that I am surprised by this thread. My experiences with Bub/Rinehart and those that I know who have had these exhausts have been nothing short of excellent. If I recall correctly, Rinehart replaced several members black tips due to a manufacturer defect at no cost. If it were me, I would contact them again directly and speak with someone higher in the food chain, and be pleasant with your dialogue. Remember, you catch more bees with honey.
kanas kid
yer scoot is pimp, wrap dem pipes or blak em out

Sorry to hear about your frustrating deal...maybe loose the shields, ceramic coat the pipes (black) & change baffles to BCT's. Black pipes would look sweet on your bob & Big City Thunder baffles have an awesome deep sound. Hope you get something to work to your liking...good luck!
I've got a 2007 sportster with bub pipes sound nice stay shiny too

But the biggest reason is the quality of their chrome heat shields. There is none. I had wavy and looks like dimpled chrome on the latter 1/3rd of the pipes shields. Here is what Bub told me...can you believe this? Do they think we are idiots???
"I have checked the stock on hand and they all display to some degree this unavoidable distortion. It is the nature of the metal being bent, welded and shaped into the high performance exhaust system it is meant to be. Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns."
What a crock of $@&#!!!!!! Worst $600 bones I ever spent.
