Finally! Now I need some input.
Now, I know everyone says get what you want, but I want both, but can't have both. I like the fatter tires, brakes, fwds, and drag bars on the FB, but I like the tank, minimalism, the bare bones look of the FXD and the fact that it would be new. I would have to change the foot controls and bars on the FXD straightaway (i'm 6'2" and hate buckhorns, but otherwise I could ride it stock. So, with all of that in mind, what do you folks think? Would I be kicking myself for getting one versus the other? Thanks much, and apologies for another "which one should I get" thread.

I went looking for the FXD, but they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. If you do want an FXD, I bet they'll deal with you. Especially if it's an '09. They're sitting all over showroom floors for some reason. They ain't moving.
The mini-pullbacks work well for a lot of people, even taller people. The mid controls might annoy you, but you can put a Highway Peg Mounting Kit on it and shift with your heel until you're ready to put forwards on it. If you ever do. I know a couple guys who absolutely love having two places to put their feet. Legs can get cramped in one position after a while.
Take your time. It isn't always what bike looks best to you, sometimes it's what bike looks best with you on it.

$13,000 seems astronomical for a used bob. My '09 FXDC/I was $9,000. There are some good deals out there, if you take the time to locate them. And if I were you I wouldn't be in such a hurry to make changes to a bike I haven't even ridden yet. Whatever you buy, ride it for awhile; get to really know it before making changes. You might consider first renting for a day the model you are planning to buy.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have narrowed it down to the FXDF and the FXD for the reasons stated. Now I have to get off the fence and make up my mind. I've ridden both, and the only thing about the FXD I truly can't stand are the mid-controls and the buckhorns.
