You mean you put motor oil in the primary? I've never heard anyone doing that.
I was using Mobil 1 V Twin 20w50 oil in my primary till this last time I used Formula +. I just happened to have some Formula + in the garage so I used it but I'll be going back to Mobil 1 next change.
First off I'd like to thank all of you who replied for your help and suggestions. Secondly, whats the outcome;bike runs great, all fluids in the correct holes in the proper amounts without any leaks.
The problem? That bike wouldn't start on Sunday or Monday. Same problems, intermittent grinding when first turned over(starter),sputtering trying to start;wouldn't.Time and time again.
Tuesday afternoon the Harley dealer trailer arrived to take it to the shop.Just for the heck of it I put in the key, flipped the switch, pushed the starter button and the@!!#* thing fired right up.Well the driver looked at like I was NUTS . Rode it around the block a few times shut it off, waited a few minutes and it fired right up again.
Now I'm not a believer in the ability of mechanical object being able to heal themselves so I sent it on to the dealership for a complete diagnostic check. They said the bike was PERFECT.The only possible answer they had, they asked if I had recently filled the gas tank. I had just before I changed the fluids. Trash or water in the fuel and it took two days worth of cranking to "push it thru" Again thank you. Beezy P.S. Harley Syn 3 is what is recomended in the primary
...not finding a cause to a problem always bothers me.
Valid point. Mr. Murphy always seems to come back to visit me when I don't find and fix whatever it was that caused him to want to visit me the first time.

I think if he gets past the next oil change we'll be in the clear.
