Everytime I think I'm done for a while - I come back to the forum and "got to have" something else.
I currently have SE - Street Performance pipes (the quiet ones), SE open filter, Stage 1 download, and nightrider Xieds. Also, 30T Trans Pulley and a Speedo Tuner.
So, I've been thinking of the Mastertune - with the TTS tuner I could pull the Xieds and Speedo Tuner.
Question for those of you that have used the TTS with just AC and exhaust... are the results good or is it WOW - worth the $$$. I think with discount coupons etc. the TTS will run a little under $450.00
Rich (archerhgoodwin on here) has the TTS and we go ride together all the time. He loves his. No pop on decel, he said it felt like a whole new bike and realized how crappy the stage 1 from the dealer is. He has got me sold on it. The only sucky part is doing your tuning runs with your laptop plugged into the bike. No big deal for me I'll just throw on the tour pack. If you don't want to do that go with the Accell SLM. I've read good reviews on that so far. It's an auto tune, but half the price as others out there and will support bolt on add ons. I'm on the fence between the two, and they are both about the same price. I'm still not sure if I'm going to do a 103" someday, which is what's keeping me on the fence. If I was going to keep my bike stock with just bolt ons and maybe a cam I'd go with the SLM. I just don't want to buy two things so I may just go with the TTS.
I can say that I have a PCV and although I'm happy with the way it runs now...I plan to do the heads/cams and possibly a big bore down the road so I'm switching over to the TTS. From what I've read...it's the best there is and not too much more than the other tuners out there.
Any name brand fueler or tuner will provide power and throttle response wow over a stock bike or one with a HD download. The wow difference between them is more subjective, the biggest difference is how you feel about cruising, smoothness, mpg.... just how right the bike feels to you riding about town... which is an emotional thing and therefore wow subjective.
If your definition of wow is a spot on tune, the TTS kit has proven that even the amateur can "Git-R-Done".
All the systems have some warts but today you really can't go wrong with the TTS tuning kit. Now that TTS kits are selling less than $400 from forum sponsor Phat and others, why would anyone want to skimp unless they just don't want to invest some sweat equity or deal with a laptop?
I haven't seen any head to head reviews on the Accell device. Just that it works for some, which is the same as you can say about any of the name brands. Call me skeptical but I think any system that does not defeat the ECU can claim to have "autotune" features.
spend the extra and go with the tts...doing the v-tune with the laptop connected is no big deal at all...i put on a small duffelbag and stick it in there...real simple. What u can do is endless when you learn the program. And also the support is the best...when i was doing one of my tunes my cord got caught in the belt and screwed everything up....i called them and they helped me get everything up and running....cant put a price tag on that
tts allow you to tune and adjust everything!!!!! you can adj things like initial startup, timing accel pump or power enrichment, spark temperature and 02 sensor bias. you get so much for the low price. the tts is by far the best accsesory ive bought!!
not to mention you can tune your bike with your own dyno so to speak.
Does the TTS adjust for timing during vtune sessions?
VTune sessions do not touch timing. I don't know of any system that adjusts timing automatically.
The tuning kit gives you all the timing adjustment tools you need, but you should have a good understanding of EFI bike tuning before attempting it. The data master program detects and records ION (ping) sensor events but the simple method of advancing the timing until data master indicates events and then backing off a few degrees for those TPS/rpm/load conditions isn't always the right thing to do when optimizing timing.
Now if your bike is pinging or timing is too advanced, you can usually use the data master to find what combination of parameters are causing the issue, and back off timing in that area.
