You might have to make excuses for some of these other guys, but I hear ya. I used to say I didn't care what other people thought but I always did a little bit. But experience and practicality has really taught me to truly not give a crap about what other people think whether it's trailering my bike or what I wear from my head to my toes when I'm riding. There were 3 of us that made that ride to myrtle. One of them had a perfectly good enclosed trailer at his house that we left home. To top it off, our wives were riding in a cozy suburban behind us the whole way, so it's not like we weren't taking an extra vehicle anyway. But 1 of the 3 of has just had to pressure us into riding down there, rain or shine because "you just don't trailer a Harley". Even he sees it differently now. He and the other guy were behind me and had to skid through a red light on that ride and he might not be here anymore if someone had decided to get froggy on the green light coming the other way.

I'm all for pratical....wait, that doesn't sound right, I live in SD and have a Harley which is parked for about 4-6 months outta the year!!! I don't have the deep pockets where if something took a crap I can just unload $$$ at the local dealer. I'll call the trailer insurance! Insurance for the weather and the "oh ****" I broke something!! ha....now i gotta figure out why the hell my sig pic disappeared

That's a good point too but I wouldn't probably, normally trailer just in case something broke. However, on my last trip, as I said, I blew a fork seal and fluid was spraying out everywhere with every slight movement of the forks. I probably could have ridden it home but it would have been messy but I trailered it back and fixed it when I got home. The only question was, did trailering it cause the blow out to begin with. I don't think so but I'll never know for sure. I unloaded it on a Thursday and it didn't blow until Saturday.

Some tips:

1. be sure the angle of the straps is between 45 and 60 degrees
2. strap the rear wheel to the bottom of the trailer in order to be sure your bike cannot move sideways and/or up
3. use rags under the straps in order to prevent the straps being damaged by sharp edges and to prevent the straps make scuff marks on your bike
4. check the tension of the straps every stop you make and adjust if needed
5. always carry some spare straps with you

You have a great looking bike - must have been working on it during the 4-6 months it's parked. Where's the pic of the guy who rides it?

The mystery man finally shows himself. Thanks for the pics (finally). Secret admirer, definitely. Stalker I'll never admit to. Now I gotta ask....who's the girl in the avatar. Don't mean to hijack the thread, but as long as I"ve got you talking finally I thought I'd ask You've got my e-mail address?
