Tail light lens
Last month I replaced my tail lens with a smoked low profile lens. It came with a led bulb which wasnt very bright, I replaced it with a regular red 3157 bulb. The problem is due to the low profile the bulb is to close to the lens and has began to melt it. This morning I ordered a Clear Alternatives smoked led lens. Anyone have one of these, if so how bright is it, is the quality good or should I have went with the Kuryakyn?

I just put a Drag Specialties on mine. I don't like the led bulb. It is bright for taillight purpose but the brake light side is not bright enough. Thought about a regular 3157 red bulb off eBay, but after reading your meltdown problem, I don't know. Let us know what you did.

I had the exact same problem on my old sportie last year. Bought led bulb and no one could see it then bought 3157 red and melted the hell out of my tail light. Ended up spending a lot of money on nothing and went back to stock. Then decided to trash the whole bike and buy my bobber.
