I have ordered a backrest, luggage rack, docking hardware and quick disconnect sideplates for my '08 Wide Glide. Is the signal light relocation kit necessary also if I'm not installing saddlebags please? The PDF instruction manual says the relocation kit may possible be needed, it didn't say it is for sure.
It's after hours or I'd phone the dealership and verify if the relocation junk is necessary, thanks in advance.
Not sure about the 2010 WG but the "relocation kit" for mine didn't move the signals. What it did was replace the stands they mount to with part of the docking kit. Makes no sense that they call it a relocation kit when it doesn't move anything.
on dynas when you relocate the t/s they give you different stansions
and you actually wire the t/s differently.
HUH?
As I recall they are wired the same, you are just routing the wires differently. On my 05 it did relocate where they were mounted, to the farthest back hole on the struts.
No you don't need the relocation kit. Just go to the hardware store and get some chrome 1/4inch spacers and new bolts (I forgot what length bolt) and here you go!!!
Here's with the detachable solo rack and tour pack I put together.
There are (2) relocate kits. One moves the lights to the rear.
The other moves the signals out and inserts mounting device..
You will need one or the other. Or fab your own set-up..
If I were you I'd just go for the move to the rear, and get it over with.
You may want quick detach bags someday..

Thanks Ronn, yours is the answer I'm looking for. Just for now do I need to fiddle with the signal lights is what I'm asking? I.E. Do I need a relocation kit just to actuate the quick release levers of the backrest?
