Default Kuryakyn standard forward controls or extended?

I have a 2007 super glide custom. I want to put forward controls on it. I have decided on the kuryakyns, because i can put them on myself. I just need to know if i should get the standards or the extended +3 inches? I'm 6'2" with a 34" inseam. i read that the extended are for 34" or more? I do have highway pegs and those are great, but I know the forward controls sit different. If anyone has any suggestions or PICS it would be greatly appreciated!

I just installed the extended last week and have about 150 miles with them. At 5' 11" with a 34 inch inseam I was right on the recommended border for normal or extended. At first I thought I wasn't going to like them because they are a bit of a stretch. Let me say the jury is still out on that, but as my miles build with them I'm becoming more comfortable with them. I'm sure if my final decision is to opt back to the normal version I will find someone on the forum who would be interested in swapping.

I have long legs too. I have standard controls. With stirrups, this provides all the comfort for me. Also with the longer legs, your knee bend is similar to most people on bikes with floorboards. The further the extention of your legs, the less control you can have over the bike in corners and sudden situations. IMHO, get standard forwards.

I'm 6'4" with a 34" inseam and have the same exact bike. My first set were the standard length Kury's because the cutoff for std vs. extended was 33" and I figured, what's an extra inch? I liked them a lot better than stock mids and was okay with them but found my legs felt a little cramped on longer rides. I thought about just adding some Kury cruise mounts to them so I could move my feet out when cruising but, for the same reason I went with forwards instead of highway pegs, because I want my feet to always be at the controls, I decided to go with the Kury extended forwards. I sold my old set to offset the cost of the new ones to about the same as I would have invested in the cruise mounts anyway. So, for the same money, I got extended forwards. Couldn't be happier. Bike finally feels like it fits me now. It took a couple of years of messing around with seats, handlebars, pegs, and now the extended controls but finally got the bike to feel perfect for me. Definitely go by your inseam and not your height. If you have a 34" inseam, I think you'll like the extended controls. Even with them, my legs are not stuck straight out like some guys I see riding around. I think that would be hard on your knees. I still have enough bend in my knees to help shift my weight around and better control the bike.

I was in your dilemma once myself. I am 6'1" with a 33" inseam and ended up going with the standard Kury forwards. They are comfortable but I wish I would have gotten the extendeds. I am always wanting to have about 2 more inches of stretch. At your height and inseam, I would definately go with the longer set.

I have a 34" inseam as well and installed the extended Kury's on my FXDCI. Love the way the bike fits. I machined a clevis in the stock "highway pegs" and extended the pegs with those to get an even more comfortable position on long rides. No more cramping around the stock A/C cover
