I am counting down the days left in my deployment. when i return i will be buying my first harley. i know i want a Dyna but not sure what will fit me best for my size i am 6'5 and 275. i am not sure which bike i want the wide glide or a street bob. i know the bob comes with mids but the first thing i do would be to add forward controls on it. are there any guys like me out there on a bob i dont want to look like a elephant riding an ant. could someone please post some pics if your a big guy like me on your bike. also any tips on how to make it fit me better if i do go with a bob. thanks
I think you would be better off on a wide glide with the extra rake, the bike is longer and you could get extended forward controls on it ti fit you better
Sounds like you like the Bob better . Extended forwards , and seat that moves you back , some taller apes . That will get you a lot more comfortable . Those same mods on a Wide Glide will be even more comfortable .
6'7" here, or at least I think that's what 204cm translates into, either way, the street bob with mids are a big nono, however I'm sure it'd be alright with forwards.
I can't even remember why now but I did find the fat bob a bit uncomfortable when I sat down on it.
The WG which I ended up getting fit very well, was comfortable and with the extra rake you get the idea of it being a bit bigger, which is nice because you look less like this that way:
are all of the dyna the same frame or close to it other then the rake? sorry but i am new to this. also i sat on a fat bob and a wide glide they fell just alike other then the seat and bars.
I'm 6' 3" and am quite comfortable with forwards. The mids weren't terrible for me, but the forwards are much better. You do have a good bit of weight over me though, I'm only 175...you'd likely have a better fit on the Wide Glide, that's the bike I wanted and they couldn't get me here.
+1 for the wide glide, but, extended forward controls would be the go, I'm 6'4'', & even with the ext. forward controls & 6" pull back risers I think I'm still gonna have to source a seat that moves me back an 1" or so
