Man, what are you talkin about? 6500 miles on that beautiful 07, that ain't even broke in yet. I agree with the lads that are saying "keep it and mod it". How would your old lady feel if everytime you saw a beautiful girl you asked for a divorce...
The color is called black ice. I don't know why. It's really blue that changes to purple when the light hits it. It comes in a gloss or "denim" (flat) finish.
One big difference is the tank-mounted speedo (on FXDC) vice riser mounted (on your bike) ... if it makes a difference to you .... [Interestingly, some actually prefer the riser-mounted speedo ....]
Changing out the tank can be done but at considerable effort, cost and inconvenience .... or, could pay the dealership or an indy to do it ... even go with the MoCo paint/tin set and get the parts from the dealer to change to FXDC tank and do it all 'in one fell swoop' so to speak ....
Still, at least in my case, it was cheaper to swap out the tank/console than the loss on trade-in would have been (around $410 all DIY) ... and if you plan on doing a bunch of other mods, it could work out better ....
You've got a good low-miles bike which is great as-is ... or with modifications you could go any number of ways to 'dress it up' ....
Well, I just got back from the dealer and I rode home on........................
A 2007 Road King Classic!
Went to the dealer this morning, talked with the salesman, told him what I was willing to spend, and after offer/ counter offer, I got the Road King for what I think is an OK deal. They wanted $14,995 for the Road King, he came down to $14,000 and gave me $8500 for my bike. So after tax, and all the other junk, it was my bike and $6300. The Road King is in excellent condition with 12,000 miles on the clock. I'll post pics as soon as my daughter can find the cord to our camera so we can down load them.
