hey ya'll... i need some help. I'm wanting to get a new head light for my lowrider. Its a 2001. I want something thats all smooth and chrome like some the customs. i know i have the indecator bar on top of my stock one now... I was thinking about just doing away with that. Does any body have pics of this mod on a fxdl? any advice?
Several options have been posted in the Dyna Models Section, Josh.
If you you use the search option in the Dyna Models Section (right hand top corner) and search for "idiot lights" you'll find lots of threads offering all kinds of solutions.
Sure....... I put an H-D 5 3/4" "Bullett" style on my 07 LR last year. Smooth, Chrome and really made a difference in whole look of the bike. Here are a few photos. The larger headlight really fills up the space it sits in too.
Part number 68593-06. I also run with a PIAA Halogen Xtreme White Bulb for maximum brightness. That also makes a BIG difference, especially at night.

Thanks for the compliment on my ride, and you're more than welcome.
I wanted to keep my bike modified with genuine HD parts...however, I've seen some other great looking 5 3/4" "bullett" style headlamps at JP Cycle, Eastern Performance, Kuryakyn and other retailers for way less money. Same basic design as what you're looking for. Might not be as "heavy weight" as the HD headlight is though. If I was on a budget, I would give a look at what they have available.
You'll really like the look a larger & beefier headlamp gives the bike I think.
