I tried searching this topic but I could not seem to find any information. I was wondering if anyone is running one of the HD oil coolers that mounts on the bottom of the down tubes on the front of a Dyna. If I understood the pictures in the catalog and online right, it looks like it mounts to a bracket held on by the lower motor mounts and sits over or above the voltage regulator. Any opinions on whether or not this particular oil cooler works and how it looks? I would appreciate any pictures that folks might have as well.
Thanks. I actually checked out that thread but none of those oil coolers mentioned is the one that HD has on the Motor Accessories website in the parts catalog. The one I am asking about mounts sort of under the voltage regulator (as best as I can tell from the picture in the catalog).
yeah im runnig the hd premium cooler with the thermostat that opens at 180 degrees no need to cover it in the colder weather it sits under the regulator it comes with a relocation bracket for the regulator

If you mean something like this, yes the cooler bracket mounts to the motor mount bolts, If I remember correctly the regulator gets moved up, there's a relocation bracket. It works well and looks good enough, its not that noticeable. I also have a sputhe positrac, so the cooler sticks out a bit more on my bike than others.

I have had a HD oil cooler on my 2006 FXDI since it was new. They work great.
I'm thinking that an oil cooler on an air cooled bike will help out if you are raceing the bike and you don't want the oil's viscosity to break down too much in a higher than stock compession situation. I don't think it will accomplish much sitting in traffic, or for regular cruising , twisties included the bike has what it needs, unless one habitually rides in 100+ weather. Just my few cents.
