Default Sitting in traffic.
I was sitting in stoped traffic with no where to go. it was maybe about 5 min on a warm day. I have an 05 dyna super glide fxdi. suddenly the engine rpms went down and it was at a lower idle. Just bought the bike and am learning as I go. get the owners manul next week. Hopefuly the bike is suppose to do this when it ges hot.

If it feels like the engine is missing, then thats the high temp rear cylinder cut-off. If you blip the throttle the idle should return to normal for a short time. If not, then its something else.

First time it happened to me, Scared me to death.
But yes its suposed to do that when it gets to hot..

Just her way of letting you know she needs to run and get some air between her vanes, as others have said it is normal, but don't let it run that way to long.

Jim, don't owner's manuals usually come with the bike? Are you referring to a service manual?
