Anyone upgraded to the SE502 (180mm) wide tire set up? I see in the Harley catalog that the rear turn signals need to be relocated. Would like the tire but don't want to relocate the turn signals.
I've followed every post on this issue cause I plan to go the the bigger tire when I wear this one out. I think the general consensus is that all you have to do is just switch tires and you are unlikely to have any problems.
As I understand it, the harley kit just movers the brake light wiring to the side which probably isn't necessary.
I got the wide tire kit and it does not move any of the signals. It really consists of the tire, a couple spacers and the wiring bracket (I believe - did not see it go in due to dlr install). But if your wheel is properly centered already just the tire is really needed. Only major mods start when a 200 is attempted.
For a 200, you will need a narrower belt and pulley for 1, and different shims. I think there is something that has to be notched for clearance but I am not certain (sometimers kicking in again).
As long as you guys are on the subject I'll try this again. Anybody know what lower profile 180 might fit, and can you get it through HD just so they won't give you any warranty B.S.
ORIGINAL: but Ill try 2 try
