2010 fxd aluminum questions
Am i correct- the cast wheels aside from the wrinkle areas are polished and "clear coated" ?? Also the lower legs -are they clear coated ?? The trees dont appear to be, so whats the best to polish these with and why arent these coated as well?? Finally the fender struts - are these coated ? If not what polish product again? Thanks !!

07 Struts seem to be stainless. I imagine the 10s are, too.
I can't swear that the cast wheels are coated, as I have a fair bit of corrosion on them and it doen't look like it's under a clear coat. The fork yokes are forged, hence are a different alloy, so they age differently from the cast lower legs and the wheels. If I wasn't too lazy this Sunday eve, I'd go out and poke at my spare fork and wheel to see what the deal is. If no one else answers you in a day or so, I'll do that.

I think the struts are definetly stainless, so whats the best upkeep on these? The lower legs appear to have a coating on them as do the wheels. I cant tell though. Also the rocker box overs appear to be coated also. I guess wax would be the maintenance for the coated parts ???
