Im sick of looking at the cheap looking hardware on my primary and motor. Is there a stainless hardware kit for it or do you have to just buy them individually?
Living on the gulf coast, I've got the same concern or problem so I've been replacing a majority of my fasteners with stainless hardware. Your primary hardware is 1/4 inch and two different lengths. Some are 4 inches and the others, I can't remember, but they are shorter. Your best bet is go into a ACE hardware or marine type store, and they carry a large selection of stainless/chrome allen head/torx type fasteners.
If you just can't find em in a brick n mortar store, then you can order em online from say,
Fastenal.com
they've got everything known to man pretty much - so if you have a parts manual you can make a list of all the fasteners you need and buy them all online before having to remove any to get sizes etc. fast shipping too
Stainless steel bolts come in different tensile strengths. I picked some up at a hardware store the other day and was told they were 130,000 psi tensile-very strong. And they were definitely hard. They were shoulder bolts that we had to extend the threads on and were quite difficult to run a die on. You can ask about the TS and should be able to find out.
I bought a kit on ebay from a seller named cyclebolts for 62 bucks..they look far better then stock..
