Default Mid Control Pegs

Ok, this is a question for all of you who have had, or have mid controls. Whats a good option for aftermarket pegs or mini boards etc.... Looking for something that will give a little more area for my wife on her S.B. I just put the swing wings on my W.G. and its amazing the differance it makes having a bigger area to rest your feet. So what about the mid control area? Never had mid controls so im curious to what kind of pegs would work well for someone wanting a more comfortable footrest. This is for mid-controls only. Not highway pegs, or forward controls. Shes to short to get her legs up that far! lol

Not a fan of big foot pegs on mids, personally. It's too easy to get your feet/pant leg tangled up while putting your feet down. Been there, done that one.

You CAN put hiway pegs along with a hiway peg mount and I used some Kury X-Tensions to move the pegs back an inch or so. I'm only 5'9" tall and I suspect they'd work for someone as little 5'5" tall without a lot of trouble.

I describe what I did here --

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...ml#post6888414

I tried the Kury swing wings on my mids. They tried to kill me. Personally don't recommend them, especially on mids. I'm sure forwards are quite a bit different but I'm not wild about forwards. I want more control. But that's just me.

Everybody's different and every motorcycle is different. Between personal taste, height, leg length, comfort, riding style and most importantly -- Safety. There's really a lot to consider.

Would floorboard be an option? See my album for some images of my set-up.

I have to agree on that one. In fact I just removed my mid pegs for good last night. I got tired of hooking my pant legs on them at stops. And I have a 34 inch inseam. I couldn't imagine someone with shorter legs dealing with floor boards at a stop. Just my $.02 for point of thought.

I still have the stock mid controls and pegs. They are sitting in the top cabinet of my desk at work. Probly stay there until I change jobs. I can't understand folks putting forward controls on when they are shorter. They aren't that uncomfortable and I'm 6'3". Did your wife's bike have the forwards on when she got it?

Edit add for original question: I have Kury ISO pegs, large in front small for rear. Actually have an extra set of small ISO pegs "NIB" as they doubled my order.

This might sound goofy as hell, but you really do have to be mindful of the jeans you're wearing when you're riding with mids. Boot-Cut, relaxed fit or any other kind of baggy-leg pants are OUT. Straight cut, straight leg jeans ONLY.

Fire away. I guess I deserve it.

It came with mid controls. She sat on one with forward controls and couldnt reach to shift or brake. She hasnt complained about the stock pegs, but I know for me, changing them out on mine made a world of differance. But i didnt know about bikes with mid-controls because of the differant angle in which your foot sets on the pegs.

I wear Wrangler "George Strait" relaxed fit, boot cut; IIRC. Didn't have any issues with them and the mid pegs. Maybe I'm just lucky? or it's because I'm taller than average?

I've heard from lots of riding buddies that recommended the Kury ISO pegs. If they agree with her "taste" get a set of those for her. Lots of my buddies OLs like them for passenger pegs also.

Fair warning with mid pegs... If you put something to big down there and you do any serious riding you may have right side touch down when going into a steep turn.

I have the long Harley Black Diamond cut pegs on my Streetbob and I have scrapped about a 1/4' inch off the right side.

On the plus side they make pretty sparklers :-)
