Dry rot

So I ordered new intake gaskets since I figured out that they were leaking. Ordered thru a local dealer. Not a bad price. Looked up some instruction on youtube just for a guide. Marked and pulled the intake off. Those flanges are a bitch to get off! But were those gaskets dry! Replaced them, lined everything up and tightened. Now for a test run. When I fired it up it even sounded diffrent. So hopefully my popping sound will go away mostly. Thank's for all the help here so far in the forums. You guys are a great help!

Well, the popping is still there. Also seems to load up a little. I did put a 185 main in it. It smells alot like gas when at an idle. Might go to a 180 and leave it from there. I suppose a dealer is gonna be my best bet to get this figured out? Some guys tell me it's all the pipes making this happen.

Put the baffles back in? Also the 185 main is too large go back to a 180 or the 176 you had before. Don't forget the popping can also be increased by exhaust leaks as well.
