Has anyone used the acellerator pump feature on thier power commander? I'm going to experiment with mine today, but was curious what kind of settings others were using.
I've heard it makes for significantly improved throttle response, but that's older info from the sportbike crowd running PCIII I think. Either way, I've been curious to try it out on the HD but haven't messed with it yet. You find anything interesting/improvements messing around with it today?
If I remember right once you turn that feature on you cant turn it off but i dont really remember had a pc III on my 06 and have the pcv on my 08 dont even know if it has that have not messed with mine since i installed it
No, it's free. You just download it from dynojet's website and click enable once you're connected to the PCIII.
Before I posted this, I did a search (like any good forum member) to make sure this wasn't a redundant question. I came up with nothing. I don't know if I spelled something wrong or what, because I did another search through google and came up with about a dozen or so threads on this topic.
So, if you're still interested, Andjh123 is right on the money. It's for bikes that have a lean condition under hard acceleration. Not an EFI Harley Davidson. Jamie from Fuel Moto backs this up in another thread. So if the Ghandi of tuning says not to use it... I won't be using it.
Its tunable and depends on the setting, it uses gas if you have it turned to high, I run efi and I ALWAYS had it on, Jamie told me the same thing but it don't hurt to try it, if you dont like it turn it off, I found I liked it, but I ride fast. I have since changed my tuner, I wont bad mouth PCIII, or any of their products but they will loose a lot of HD buyers because they are not the top dog for HD anymore, much better out there. They still have a use in the Jap crap market though so they are safe.
Try it for yourself, if you like it run it, if not turn it off.
