I have BR on my street bob, like the sound but want to better performance and sound. Do the monster baffle make it louder as well as add performance? Don't want quiter than stock BR baffles or would just leave alone.
I have BR's 2-2 on mine and just recently installed the BCT QQ baffles, I could not be happier. Took a trip up to Gettysburg bikeweek this weekend and put a few hundred miles on her on all kinds of roads, the mid range lag is gone, she sounds sweet and hills are smooth to climb and gain speed.
To be fair, I also installed a 31 tooth front pulley before this trip, the combination of the 2 exceeded my expectations.
BTW, this was all 2up riding and she never showed any sign of lagging, even passing at 80 the dumbass daydreaming and chatting on his cellphone who could not keep a steady speed to save his life.
If you get the QQ baffles, it won't be louder (but it will be loud). The sound is probably deeper, though. I doubt you will notice any difference in performance even though the QQs may give a little more back pressure. Like Longhair said, 2-1 pipes if you want it to perform.

I beg to differ, you will notice it, in the mid-range, I no longer have that little lag in the throttle I had before the baffles.
He already has 2-2 so no need to spend the money to replace the exhaust.

You're probably right. That didn't occur to me since I had already tuned out that lag before I switched the baffles.
When I had my big radius I put in some bct baffles and it did make it sound alot better. But your not going to see any real improvement in performance. I ran these pipes and baffles on my tuned 103" and it didn't do anything for performance. Now switching over to a 2-1 pipe, you will not only see a performance increase, but you'll feel it also! I never liked the looks of the 2-1 pipes before, but I can tell you this...they do work! Here's a old video of my big radius/bct baffles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSg36i_ucH4
What would I get if I put a BCT baffle in a D&D Fatcat with a performance baffle? When I went from a 96" to a 103". It raised the sound about 5 octives. Sounds like pure performance, but a little to high. I don't want it any louder. Just lower.

Did you seriously expect a baffle to make a noticeable difference on a "tuned 103"?
I can tell you on my internally stock motor the baffles dropped my 0-60 time from 4.6 down to 4.4, that is a noticeable difference. It is very noticeable in the 2400 - 3000 RPM range, but I have not wasted the money on a Dyno tune since my TC88 is internally stock, just AC and pipes.

Yes I do. I had the baffles when I had just the stage 1, and it didn't do anything for me. And to tell you the truth having a built motor, baffles play a big part in performance. To give you an example, I squeezed out better #'s and overall a better torque curve running the quite baffle than I did with the performance baffle on my 2-1. I think alot of people get stuck on the it's "louder so it must be faster" thinking. But remember the OP is asking about the original monster baffle not the quite.
