Since replacing the stock tire on my Street Bob with an Avon my back tire is planted on the road. Those Dunlops were too squirrely for me.

If you have 8900 miles on the stock tires, seems to me it might be a good idea to replace the tires.

If you do, throw some good performance tires on (I prefer Avon Venoms) and I bet you'll like the ride a whole lot better.

If you still are not pleased with the ride, then you can explore other (and quite possibly more costly) solutions.
