Thanks for the suggestion. I'm using PB Blaster to get the nut off the stud that I took all the way off, but I'm wondering what the easiest way is to screw the stud back into the exhaust head...
Anyone have a part number for the exhaust studs for a 2009 FXDF? I think I'm just gonna buy a new one.
Question: Would a dealer just swap out these studs for me for say an hours labor cost? Any reason they wouldn't? Just curious.
Give them a call. I'm sure it ain't that uncommon, but they'll quote you the book and probably charge what the book says. For somebody that knows the whole process I wouldn't think it would take more than an hour.
Good call - they said they'd do it, at least give it a look, and would advise against self installing new studs.
Said it'd be about $200 likely. Worth it to pay for my half *** attempt. I'm already woried I f'ed something up so I'm gonna take it in and lick my wounds. Oh, and pick up a service manual while I'm there.
