I am looking at/checking out another bike to put in
the stable and am looking for opinions/ideas about
this bike as you guys are the ones who already have
'em.
I have my eye on a owner selling a 2004 red denim
dyna, I don't know if it is a low or wide. I have seen
it but it has been a while. A co-worker who has a bum
knee and says it hurts him too much to ride now. When
I saw it last it was in MINT shape.

Depending on the Dyna $10K seems a bit high. I bought my 2009 red denim Street Bob for $14K out the door brand new with mods (forwards, pillion, flush mount caps, and $400 in HD store credit).
I had $8k in my mind right off the bat,
and I don't think I am willing to budge
from that. He is kinda crazy guy and who
knows may be willing to do something
with the 1974 MGB that I don't really
need.
Personally I'd look around for an 07 or up if you're willing to spend a bit more than the 8k. 96"/six speed, easy pull clutch (I've got elbow issues), and a few other improvements over the 04. IPB issues would keep me away from the 06s.
Bought my 2009 with 2500 miles at the beginning of summer for 10k.. $10k is way too much for a 2004. I would spend the money up front on a newer bike even if it pushes $11k..
Get a 2007 or newer. There are used bikes all over the place with good deals. The 2007 and up has the 96" engine and no IPB problems. It will be a much better value than the 2004.
Any improvements on newer bikes have aside, that is way to high for that bike, look around for something else. I bought my 07 Street Bob this year, 3100 miles, with a few things on it for 8500
