Hey all,
I have an 01 lowrider, and was wondering if anyone had some good sites or some pics of varying ape hanger heights or just different handlebars in general. I bought the relocation bar mounts that move the stock bars 2" up and 2"back. Is changing the handlerbars something that I could figure out on my own? Im pretty mechanically inclined, but I just wouldnt know what I would need as far as new cables etc. thanks for the info.
There are a bunch of options for apes out there and it's not that difficult to change them out. If your moving up 2" and back 2" you may need new cables. With the extra 2" on the riser and the extra height from an ape, you'll need anywhere from 2 to 4 OS on your cables and lines. The other thing to keep in mind is, are your current bars dimpled for your wiring harness. Some aftermarket bars are not and you will have to do some mods to make them work. Unless you plan to wire them internally, then you may need more length on your wires. I have a set of Gimp Hangers from www.nashmotorcycle.com they make some cool looking bars in all sizes.
