been through a mustang, danny grey and a stock solo seat. do you get more comfort from a two up seat or am I looking for the imposible.so far the best seat of the bunch has been the stock harley solo. and it leaves alot of room for improvement.

Every butt is different. Best seats I've ever had were a Mustang Wide Vintage (two piece, so solo and two up are same from the rider's perspective) on my old Honda Shadow and the stock seats on my 04 and 09 Electra Glides. Stocker on my 07 Street Bob is good for about 100 miles. Currently trying out a C&C Solo - too early to tell.

Are you giving them a chance to break in? Many people find the Mustang extremely comfortable, but you can't expect to bolt it on and have it perfect day one. I like to put at least one or two thousand miles on before making up my mind.

Not to rob this thread but have been thinking of just using a butt pad or sheepskin instead of buying new seat. Used mustang before and it was better than stock but still sore after long ride. Just tired of spending $$ on seats and finding they're not right for me. Been looking at butt buffer.

I will say that I tried one and it worked. Put an AMS Small Comfort Max Gel pad on my LePera BareBones, took it from a 100 mile seat to a 300 mile seat. Still looking for a better low-profile seat though, 'cause after 300 miles my *** was killing me and that just wont do.

This thread makes my *** sore. Just put a mustang vintage solo on mine. It's better than the stock seat and moves you farther back also. I find it more comfortable than the stock but there is room for improvement. Hopefully it will break in over time.

I have FatBob stocker for solo, and touring seat for 2 up, both great seats, but touring kind of wide between my legs.

I couldn't ride 20 miles on my stock SB seat, but can ride all day on the Mustang Vintage solo. So a solution may not be another seat but getting one you have improved. You could try Mean City Cycles, I've heard some good things here about them. Pretty sure they're still a sponsor.

'09 FXDF ... I have the stock 2-up seat, a Street Bob Solo, and a Mustang Vintage Wide Solo w/detachable back rest. Only a few hundred miles on the Street Bob Solo and the Mustang, but so far the Mustang is hands down the best of the bunch. The Mustang is great around town for short rides, and the removable back rest makes all the difference on the longer rides.
