I am looking to change up and add something new to my 2004 super glide, I would like drag bars and or a solo seat. I am new to scene and loving it. If any of you have drag bars can you send me or attatch a pic..... How hard is the drag bar job?
I don't have drags on my current scoot, but they're easy to install. Since you have an 04 you don't have internal wiring, so that saves you one major pain in the ***. I would check and see if the stock risers will work with drag bars before I bought any. You want to measure and make sure that your bars don't hit the tank. If they do just install a set of new risers if they don't then wham bam there you go.
I had a '99 superglide I put drags on but couldn't stand the speedo on the clamp.
I think in '04's you can do the sportster customer speedo mount which puts the speedo on the bottom of the clamp which is a bit more tolerable but you would definitely need new risers as the speedo would hit the tank.
Also can't do pullback risers with the stock speedo because of the rancid angle the speedo sits at.
