My old man has about half a dozen solo seats for his '07 streetbob. LAPera, HD tallboy, some sort of gunfighter, etc etc. I think he prefers the HD tallboy for long rides.
I have tried all of his seats on my '07 bob, and IMO the best combination of looks and comfort in a solo seat is stock
x2, did a 1K mile run over 24 hours and didn't have a problem. I don't always have the backrest on (only use it for long rides) and it is by far the best for comfort IMHO
For my 06 Sb I have the stock seat that about put me in a walker on the 1st long haul....I was hurting after 10 miles but made the most of it.
I also have a Lepera Silhouette Solo that I sent in for a remake with .75 inches of gel plus memory foam...Plenty comfy now but haven't been on any really long hauls with it.
Bought a Saddleman's Renegade Solo...Note here that the 05 and earlier seat is a low profile seat. 06 and later is more of a touring seat but still called the Renegade Solo.
The 06 and later version of the Renegade Solo is more along the lines of the Mustang Vintage or Day Tripper and comes with Gel, Memory Foam and as I have been told needs about 1000 miles to break in.
Now today I just received a C&C 2 Piece Solo Leather seat that I am going to say would be right in between the reworked Lepera and the Saddleman's Renegade Solo.
Plenty comfy...No ride time yet. Leather which is a big plus for the price $225.00 plus shipping. Leather will most likely take a life time to break in but it can only get better from here.
Well, I bought the Mustang Wide Solo and matching Mustang wide passenger seat. The passenger seat removes in seconds. Anyway the lady loves her comfortable perch and I love mine. We haven't gone that far yet, just 200 miles last Sunday, but we have no complaints.

I have the same seat i love the look of it. I don't like the comfort. But is hurting after about 200 miles.
When I had a sportster I had a corbin hollywood solo and it was firm but still a comfortable seat for distance. I could ride 400+ mile days and have no comfort issues. I wish i would have spent the extra money for the Hollywood solo instead of the C&C.
I have a sheepskin on it's way hopefully that will buy me at least another 100 miles a day or so before the pain sets in.
well I've only tried one other than my stocker.. mustang vintage solo.. and I'll probably never find out what others are like because im in LOVE with this one. its amazing.
