does it not leave a oily residue on the windshield..i heard that rain-x and stuff like that would ruin some windshields...father in law has a memphis shades one and he is scared to put anything other than a hot towel to get the bugs off and then water to clean it...
Careful with windshields. I'm not a believer in anything but water. A buddy of mine who worked on helicopters also told me to clean and wipe in an up and down motion only. Something about light, lexan and something else. I forgot.
i agree grendel4.. their were a few people who said on the detailing section that it does wonders...idk.. i wouldnt try it...and also i have an idea for an anti fog remedy...shaving cream it keeps your mirror in the bathroom from fogging up why not the windshield and it doesnt leave any streaks on the bathroom mirror so i figure it would be great for a windshield

I've used Pro Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish on Memphis Shades, HD, and FastAire shields and the windshield on my truck for almost a decade with absolutely no issues whatsoever.
Just keep in mind that Pledge works as a "cleaning" product. It's not formulated to protect automotive/motorcycle type paint.
That's not entirely true. Pledge has contained UV protectors in it for years. I routinely spray and wipe down the plastic lenses on the headlights of my cars and I've never gotten the hazing from oxidation you so often see on the headlights of modern cars.
As for my bike, it get's washed with soap and water maybe twice a year. The rest of the time it's Pledge from stem to stern about once a month. And when I do wash it, the water has never failed to bead just like I'd used the most expensive carnuba wax.
I have used Windex in the past and then I moved to a damp cloth with a dry rag to follow (works wonders). Now I must try the awesome Pledge trick, but please tell me when i roll down the rode i wont smell like a lemon.
I've been wondering, "why lemon, won't regular old pledge work as well?"
I've used a variety of things from Armorall to Windex. Maybe I'll try the Pledge thing. Lemon?
