Default drop in fork kit on SB question...

So I just installed progressive drop in fork lowering kit in my 2010 street bob with the intention of lowering 1 inch.. seems like I got alot more
directions said to cut the pvc spacer 1 inch, which i did, and I used that 1 inch piece in the forks.. could they have meant cut 1 inch off and use the now 3 inch or so piece? shitty directions progressive.. a caveman like me shouldnt be guessing

yea i saw the video, doesn't tell you anything about cutting the pvc spacer. I guess Im going to assume that if cutting the spacer 1" lowers bike 2 inches, then cutting the spacer 2" will lower the bike 1 inch.
i hope this works. can't believe progressive wouldn't include that in their directions.

Well if you want to drop the front 1 inch why would you throw away a 2 inch spacer, mathematics tells you if you want to lose an inch you throw the inch cut off away not install it instead

So, if you did "A", and it dropped it too much....try option B. This seems to be some simple math gone wrong.

i hear ya, but i dont think im supposed to throw in that big *** leftover piece, i really dont. if ya watch the installation video on progressive's site, they're actually working on a street bob, and he drops in a 1 inch piece. im thinking that when they tell ya to cut a one inch piece they're assuming you want to drop your front end the maximum of 2 inches. so lets just say that is the case, im curious that if adding an inch to that cut translates to exact measurements of the lifting. meaning should i try a 2" piece to get my 1" drop? For all I know a 1" piece gets you 2" drop, and a 1.25" piece gets you a 1" drop.

I would take your left over piece and cut it to 2". If it doesn't drop it enough, trim a little off until it sits how you like. Or, just call Progressive and ask them. Let us know what you find out though, I'm looking to do the same thing and only want an inch lower.
