I had the same problem with my brake light switch,
turns out that I damaged the switch rubber after levers removed/replaced.
take your lever off and check this.
quick fix to make my brake light to work again, used some electrical tape on lever where it contacts the switch, so applies switch more.
will have to replace the switch come winter.

Stock brake handles here, but definitely something to think about.
