Default Handlebar options 05 FXD
Thinking of changing the bars on my 05 FXD to something cooler than stock, but not as off the wall as 14" apes. Maybe 10" stock bars from a Street Bob; anybody got better ideas? Don't want to spend a fortune.

Wow, I didn't know 14" apes were off the wall. The possibilities are endless. Just look around until you find something you like.

10 inch baby apes seem to be quite popular now a days. I ran them for a while on my Low Rider. I went for something a tad wider and taller, but the 10 inchers really aren't to bad. Mine are just collecting dust in the basement now.

look at br customs bars. they will custom fit any style of their bars to your specs

Assuming it has the stock flat bars there are 2 HD bars that you can use by changing only the clutch cable. Dyna buckhorns and the mini-apes. The wiring in the headlight will pull out to extend and the stock throttle/idle cables will still work. I put a set of mini-apes on my 05 the first week i had it, second week i took them back off and put the stock flat bars back on. The mini-apes were comfortable and looked good, just didn't have as much control for hard riding.

i got my 10" street bob handlebars just sitting in my garage.. pm me if your looking for those. they were nice but i went to 16's

You can use bars from soft tails,they worked for me.Got them new on E-bay $113.
