Default windshield

Plan on buying from HD a windshield for my 2006 fxdi. Prior posts talk about whether windshields are ok, but can't find any info on what to expect from different HD windshields. I will definetly get the quick release. The windshields I am interested in are the sport touring, the standard height, the super sport , low profile. Any responses will help. Thanks..

I've got the standard and like it now.

Words of caution BE DELICATE WITH THE CLAMPS they are unforgiving to overtightening and mis-alignment.

(Zanotti's had the best price)

Hey sammi; I wonder about the height of the standard. I really don't want to block vision. The standard does seem the way to go.

I have it set to just below eye level. There's room on my forks to adjust the height about 3 inches or so.

I believe I have the standard height on mine (bought the bike used) and I'm 6'-1" and I look over the top of it by about 3" or so. Works great for me.

I have the low profile and really like it. I can easily see over it, but it still gives me a lot of wind protection.

Thanks for the replys. I ordered a low profile yesterday. Height was one reason, 5'9' and shrinking. Also from pictures low profile with it's standard braceing may be my way to go. A lot of miles without a windshield, but want to ride as much as possible. Windshield may help.

I have the sport. I didn't want the wide look of the other models. I love gthe quick release mounts. Nothng is left behind when the windshield is removed.

When I first bought my 2003 FXDL, I found that my neck would become soar after about an hour or so of riding. I figured I was "unconditioned" and that the soarness would go away after riding for awhile. It is now 3 years later and I still ride without a windshield, and I still have soar neck. I plan on buying one after I buy new, wider forks. Is it just me, or will you always get neck fatigue from riding without a windshield? This of course is happening at the extended 70 mph range.
