#@$% Windshield
I have mine as low as I can get it (1/8" above the headlight), and I run the Memphis shades lowers. The buffeting is almost non-existent. A common mistake is thinking that higher is better but the wind is actually coming from below and hitting you in the chest.
I had one of those screens on my Sporty and it lasted a week before I had had enough of the horrible buffetting. Thought it might be different on my Fat Bob but nope, same problem.
At least without the screen the wind is steady, with these screens it feels like you are being constantly smacked around the head. I tried various heights and angles but couldn't reduce it at all.

I used my windshield twice. First time for a ten mile test ride, wind dynamics were kind of weird. second time I raised it up about one and a half inches and went on a trip from Milwaukee to La Crosse and had no problems with it.
My low profile, quick detachable windshield (from HD) works great on my 2007 FXDC. It takes the pounding off of my chest at speeds over 65ph on the freeway so I can go hundreds of miles while relaxing instead of holding on tight to keep from being blown backwards. I get some buffeting on my face, but it feels good. I am 6 ft. 220 lbs and the windshield comes up just about to my chin (vertically speaking).
I have a HD QD Low Profile on my 07 FXDB and would'nt go out on hiway for longer rides without it. I have it set as low as it will go and I look at least a couple inches over it. The body don't take beatings anymore on them 500 mile days. Took me 50+ years on the road before I caved in and wish I had done it sooner.
