Grit yer teeth and squint your eyes, why pay good money to make your bike look like a rental!

I have the sport shield on mine, I have never really noticed a problem. I notice the wind smashing into my chest a heck of a lot more. Like someone else said, try playing with the angle.

I go on long 400-500 day rides, lot's of traveling, so I prefer it.

PS - I don't wear a helmet, so that might make a big difference.

I love these guys who have a windshield that is 12 inches or so above their head level. Works real good when it rains..LOL

LOL, man I've told this story so many times......

When I got my '03 it came with a qd HD shield. When I would get up to around 55 it would start buffeting so bad I couldn't see. So I made up some aluminum pieces that allowed me to kick the bottom forward 2". Took all the buffeting out-totally. Could run it up to 100, smooth as butter. Still got some wind in and around it so I picked up a National Cycle 2 up shield, mounted it, and cut it down so the top of the shield was level somewhere between my nose and my upper lip. Got the wind deflectors too. Makes the bike cut through the wind great, cuts nearly all the wind from hitting my chest, and it slips the oncoming wind up over my head yet still allows me to wear a ballcap, the right way, without it blowing off. Its detachable, locks to the bike, and is invaluable on long trips. I rode for over 8 hrs through a rainstorm with no problems, had a big rock get kicked up by a passing truck. It bounced off the windshield (instead of me) without breaking anything.

National Cycle- http://www.nationalcycle.com/ the ones that work!!

What brand/model did you buy?

That is exactly what the Jack's Flaps Vest was designed to fix, and it does an excellent job of it. Mustache and beard up the nose, watery, jiggly eyes, head buffet from hell, all fixed at one time and it's a real top quality leather vest.

I have a HD detqachable windshield on my bobber and I use it daily with no problems no matter where I am going and no matter how far I am riding. There only thing that makes a difference is where I place it on the forks. If I put it near the top of the forks, my shirt rides up in the back and major buffering in the face. If I move it down 2", I am in perfect comfort. If it sits too low on the forks, I end up with wind pushing against my neck and chest causing back pain. Try moving your shield down a bit before you go to the expense of buying something else that costs you a lot more $$.

I have one on my 02 lowrider, I just put 4000 miles on it to sturgis. I would not have done it without it, but it is not a complete fix. I still get alot of wind with it but it does keep all the bugs and some road grime off of you on long trips. I would say use it for long distance just to help, but take it off anyother time cause they look so much better without them in my opinion.
