I buy helmets like women buy shoes and now always buy Nolan. I don't do it cause they're cheap, but because they are comfortable and have the best buckle system out there.
Nolans use a sliding clip and clamshell arrangement.
No D-rings to screw with. Very easy on and off.
I have a basic naked, flip down, modular, and a full face. I'm addicted.

Excuse me, but for many years I have not seen in the catalog of NOLAN classic JET helmet, without shield and without mechanisms to hold the shield !?! http://www.nolan.it/index.jsp?lng=en
Could you give me a link to the online shop in Europe where selling this model in the picture.
i'd be curious to know where to get this style of nolan helmet too - I know they make quality lids, but other than the nolan n20 (that has the faceshield) none of the current offerings look like the classic jet helmet in your picture?
fulmer v2 felt like it was made out of a plastic cereal bowl, and I'd rather see the bell500 in person before buying it ... seems that the gear shops around here don't carry much inventory so its hard to find helmets to actually try on - guess i'll have to wait for the next big m/c expo

Nolan N01. Thanks a lot. It seems the model is sold only in Sweden, because do not find in any online store outside Sweden.
Helmet does not cheap - 114 EUR / 145 USD without delivery.
Badit Jet costs 80-90 EUR + 10 EUR for EU delivery
However, we will try to get one and it added to my collection Maybe next year when I go to Superrally in Lithuania, to pass through Sweden and to buy a Nolan N01 ... this is a good reason))
well, UPS decided to deliver mine a day early!! i wear a 7 3/4 hat size, and ordered an XL Silver flake. it fits very snug, but it feels good. i am hoping it will continue to break in the more i wear it. my only issue is that i have fat chipmunk cheeks, and that is where the helmet feels the most snug. i have ridden all summer in my toadstool DOT half helmet.. so the 500 was a suprising change. it's very quiet. almost as if i was wearing ear plugs. i took it out for a 30 minute ride, and even to 90 mph the helmet didn't move 1 bit. all the stickers came off as soon as i decided it was the right size. overall i am very happy with it for 119.00
looks like a disco ball.. and hopefully this winter my pinstriping skills will improve and i'll have it striped before next spring. thanks again to all who have contributed to this thread. i would recommend this helmet to anyone looking for a cool looking DOT approved cost friendly helmet
Got my Bell today, and am completely dissatisfied. While it does fit like my Fulmer (Sm vs Sm) it stands way higher on my head and narrower on the sides, like a way higher profile Daytona 3/4. It came with a scuff and bubbling under the clearcoat, so luckily I can just return it for a full refund, so no harm done..
That seems to be the general concensus on the fit of the bell. I personally promote wearing DOT. However I would like to find one that fits my 7 5/8 lid evenly and properly proportioned so i dont look like I need to be saying Nanu Nanu all the time!! I wear XL helmets and any complaints the small medium guys have are only compounded by my oversized melon.
That being said my current HCI DOT 1/2 XL helmet does sit higher than I would like it too. I may just go full face HJC instead as that is what I am used to wearing on and off road anyways. Great thread.
