just checked mine (about 4300 miles) and there seems to be some irregular wearing (see pic). it's like a slice parrellell to the tread line--i put my finger nail in one and a chunk just flapped off... WTF, i have been hitting over 100mph somedays on my way to work.
I got 23,000 miles on my front Dunlop easy, I replaced it with my rear last year. I have 14,000 on this one with about half the tread left. I'd tell the dealer to put on a Dunlop.

That's what mine looked like, only worse. I would go see your dealer and tell him what is causing it and get ya a new tire.
I talked to my dealer this morning an told him i had some issues with the fornt tire, he said there were no known issues with the tire, but bring it in and they'll look at it- -my concern is that they'll say its normal wear and blow it off -- i havent felt like they go above and beyond in their service.
I checked the office of defects registry this morning and nothing shows up for the 10 FXDWG tire. I was hoping that some of you who actually had their tire replaced would document this at http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ in the hope that other FXDWG owners can be made aware of this potential problem-- documenting these defects will also help others make their case at thier local dealers. its just a thought, but if HD/dunlop can get away with replacing only a portion of these defective tires, they save bundles, probably more than enough to pay a settlement or two...
I had a nasty rotational "flapping" noise at low speeds on my 2010 wide glide at about 500 miles. I stopped and looked, it was one of these "cuts" and it was flapping the front fender.
I cut it off and there still appears to be enough tread and it isn't losing air, guess it's time to take it into the dealer and see if they'll replace the tire.
I hope my experience is better than your zigzag...but i'm not counting on it
It's sad that I dread bringing my bike to the dealer--it shouldnt be that way after the amount of money we lay down for these bikes. If it werent for the warranty, i'd be going elswhere---and I will once the warranty runs out.
If they tell you its normal wear take it to another dealer -it's not normal wear. The service manager at the dealership I took mine to even said it was a hazardous condition and insisted I leave the bike because they had to order the tire.
I agree with you about reporting the problem, however mine was written up as a nail in the tire and was told that it was to expedite the paperwork (shady?). Maybe that is their way of avoiding a "problem". It would be interesting to find out if they are doing that to everyone.
The whole experience was a nightmare, I had to wait a week for them to get the tire. When I picked the bike up it had a bad wobble, they looked it over and said they did all they could do but it still had the wobble. So I told them if it still has a wobble it's not fixed, it did not have a wobble when I brought it in. Their response was "we did all we could do". They also lost my key and fob on one of the test rides. When all was said and done they ended up taking a front wheel off a new bike and putting it on mine and gave me two new fobs. Had to go back and get the key once they found it on the side of the road. I will not be going back to that dealership!
Hope you all have better luck than me.
That sucks and all but at least you got the tire replaced and in the end some extra key fobs. My local stealership won't do **** and the one I bought mine from is so damn far away.
Hey Bryanwg, after three front dunlop replacemets , i'd give up too. where'd you order your dragon tires from--are they for the WG? what size night dragon goes on the front? I'm wondering if it's worth having HD put another dunlop on...
