Clayman,

The extension was a non-solder install meaning, one end was female, the other male. It was very simple. It was completely integrated into the system with the exact same end connectors (both ends you see in the stock configuration). It even came with shrink wrap. No cutting necessary. Plug in one end, run it through the bars and plug the male end in to your Deutsch connectors.

Thanks Whiff that looks like the way i am going to go, sure looks alot cleaner than splicing and its nice to know that if you want to switch back its no problem either. Thanks again.

Keep in mind that the extensions will fit together in one area so you will have somewhat of a lump to pull through your bars. I had 1 1/4in bars so there was room (although it took a few tries). Smaller diameter bars may be more difficult if you go that route.

Well i think that may pose a problem, i am going to be putting on 16 inch gimp hangers and they have a real tight angle at the bottom of each side of the bars. Maybe i can go 1 wire at a time, we will see. But no matter what the worst day working on my motorcycle is way better than a day at work.

If you have access to an air compressor, this way worked for me.

1. Tape off all holes in the handlebars, except the starting and finishing hole.

2. Get a piece of string long enough to reach through the bars and make sure you can pull on it (hard) and it will not break. With the bend it takes some pulling force to get the wires through.

3. Blow air through the bars and let the string flow through. It should come right out the open hole.

4. Tape your wires to this string and pull. Be carefull at the bend. It does take a little work.

Plan on more time than you think. It takes awhile!

Good Luck!
