I had my S&S slip-ons, slip-off a couple of weeks back. Got them scratched and I bought new ones which just got delivered.
I installed them myself about 2 1/2 years ago. I used the correct color locktite and torqed them with a torque wrench, as per the instructions.
I guess after a few years of heat and cold and vibration they came loose. Check your mods before this happens
I don't know what you used for muffler clamps
but Harley says they are single use.
Everytime we take slip ons off we change them. Because they do loosen up.
I have had problems with used clamps not holding.

I did read that in the manual too. The bolts are so accessible it's easy to check periodically. I did put them at the high side of the 45-60 ft lbs this time.
I for one agree with you about checking stuff. These new Harley's are so well built that its easy to forget they need the once over with a wrench every so often, no matter how well we install parts. I just want to say that it sux to have parts fly off your bike, but its happened to me more times than I want to admit. But in the true spirit of fairness and good play, that must have been hysterical if (god forbid) there was an import rider close by to see it happen. I mean, they must have thought you were on a Shovelhead for gods sakes!!!! No disrespect intended, I promise.
