so i had to take out the 1" lowering blocks on my '10 fxdb because I discovered that they allow the tire to touch the underside of fender damaging the wires (this happened whenever I hit a significant pothole) I weigh 195LBS. i wasnt happy bottoming out but i still wanted a lowered profile, so after much research I switched to 11.5" 440's. let me tell you.. its a firm ride but the shock works very well. small bumps are non existent and big bumps are felt but less disruptive to the chassis. i like em' alot and the bike is still lowered.. not slammed.. but no doubt looks lower than stock. i feel i've found kinda a happy medium.. lowered, with good performance. im going to leave the front end stock height but i've purchased progressive springs and screamin' eagle fork oil. i'll let ya know how that turns out.
440's are good shocks. I think you'll like them. I had great luck with my drop in front spring kit. Heavier oil works well with the lowered springs especially if you do the full 2 inch drop.
I just went on the progressive website and searched some black 440's... 590.00$. Wow that is alot more than I can spend. I completely understand you get what you pay for but almost 600.00 for suspension?

Sorry for no pics- i hate when others do that. tomorrow i take some and post em up.
It looks like you have those mounted upside down. Did you do that on purpose?
Bike looks good. Give us more feedback on these shocks after you log some more miles on them.

they are not mounted upside down. im still playing with stiff/soft ratio but they feel pretty good so far
I have a buddy that has a set of those exact shocks. He said they were too low for his taste. So I am thinking of buying them from him. I am hoping they will get rid of the wallowy / mushy feeling of the stockers.
I would like to think that those shocks will tighten up the rear of the bike enough to be more sporty, Yet still have a good enough dampiing ability due to the IAS technology to still absorb hits as good or better than the stockers. Do you get that impression from them so far?
