Talked to a mechanic at the harley shop today about stroking my 88 . Was looking at the 95" kit from eldebrock . Got talking to him and he recommended a SE 110" kit like for the new bikes . Anyone else got any experience with the 95" kits or bigger ?
I asked my dealer what would void my warranty. He said if I used any Screamin eagle kits that don't have the "green light" symbol by them I would void the warranty. He also said any cam bigger than the 203 would void my warranty. So I went with Short Block Charlie's Scottsman heads, SE flattop cast pistons, and Andrews TW37H cams. It made 94 hp. and 98 ft. lb. torque. Machineing and parts came to roughly $1200 ........

shepard, what is the H cam?? Don't see it on their website.
I'm considering the Scotsman heads and researching cams.
The 37G cam looks good to me right now. Not sure yet.
Thanx for the replies . http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/street_tc_engine.htm these guys also make some killer kits . A very streetable and reliable 88 with a power band starting around 2400 and making power to 6000 , 100 hp 100 tq . Check it out and let me know what ya think
The H cams are for 2006 Dyna and all 2007 with the new improved chain and tensioners. It is not necessary for us to convert to gear drive cams like the older twincams usually do.
There are lots of good head porters out there. Deweys and Big Boyz get a lot of good ink as well as ****** racing and Headquarters. I went with short Block Charlie because I could go to his shop and see it was clean, well organized, and had the best equipment. They buy over 600 sets of SE pistons a year because they do machine work for several people including some local Harley dealers. What is really important is to get your heads cc'd to give you the optimum compression for your cams. For the TW37 that is 9.8 to 1. I gotta say my bike just plain flys! They day I went to the dyno it was pouring down rain so perhaps I didn't get the best numbers but I don't get hung up on peak numbers, I have great drivability and lots of torque is always on tap........
