Had a couple of friends that put 11" 412's on their Dyna and the ride suffered. With a shorter shock you will lose travel. That is why I went with 12"" 440's. Shorter travel but a better shock. My bike does look lowered in the back but not slammed. Of course when I sit on it, all bets are off.
My HD 440's make RR tracks very smooth. At least consider 440's if you can swing it. I did a search for the best price and ended up buying mine from my dealer. He had the best price.
I have 13.5" 440s on one of my Dynas. I got them for a song on craigslist ($40), but don't hold your breath looking for that deal again. The extra travel is a WONDERFUL thing. More ground clearance so it takes more bravery to drag things and the bumps just disappear. Remember that the shock angle reduces the amount of frame lift per inch of shock length. An inch longer shock gives about .7 inches of lift. My inch and a half longer shocks lifted the bike about an inch in the back.
The Low Rider is 12". The rests of the Dynas are 12 5/8". I replaced my FXDL shocks with the longer FXD shocks to get the greater travel. It didn't change the looks of the bike in terms of raising it up.

Jeff are the ones you got as replacements 12 5/8"? Or something else? I wandering if I can get a 13" and make it work or a 12 1/2"?
Well I ordered the progressive 412 HD's today in 12" length with chrome covers we shall see if they pan out or not. I am guessing they are going to be better than the OEM's, and that will be good thanks for all the imput from you guys!!!
I think its fine as is, unless you really just have to extra dough, is there alot of pot holes on your street? LOL whatever floats your boats, 280 lbs, lol gimme a break.
