Hey, I'm a newbie here but need some other points of view on an issue. I just bought a new 2010 FXDC and have about 1300 miles on it so far. Just had my 1000 mile service done at the dealership where I bought it and when I took it in for service and I told them the front end feels like it "drags" or "vibrates" when accelerating or de-accelerating around turns at 30 MPH. Left or Right hand turns and the feeling is the same. According to the dealer this is normal and that the brakes "float". But they also said they couldn't duplicate the problem and there was nothing wrong with the bike. Now I'm not a master mechanic just a novice rider that knows somethings wrong and the dealer is blowing me off.
Has anyone out there experienced this or knows what might be the issue?
When I picked up my brand new 2010 Street Bob a few months ago I noticed the same thing. This happened as soon as I rode it off the dealership lot and made my first turn. I noticed a bad vibration in the front end while making left or right turns. To me it kinda felt like the front wheel bearings are no good. I brought it back and had a tech road test it and came back saying that everything is normal. Now I read on here somewhere that another member had the same issue and it was his front tire. He replaced it with a different brand and the vibration went away. Iam not sure if iam going back to the dealership to tell them this since I really think I won't get anywhere with them since they already told me everything is normal!!

It's normal operation and feel of the Dyna rubber mounting system flowing through the front end when making turns slowly, after owning 3 Dyna's i know the feeling ....

What is this Dyna rubber mounting system flowing through the front end? Is this the engine mounts you are talking about, if so why does this happen only when turning and not going straight? If this was the way the engine mount work I would think it would happen all the time and not just turning.

Thanks for the info Wonkaboy, if this is normal than I guess I just have to get used to it. I had a 07 Sporty that never felt like that so I figured something was wrong and it would be a warranty issue. I guess I never noticed it on my test ride.

When taking off from a dead stop and taking a SLOW left or right the rubber mount vibration is still with you , the slower you ride around the corners you will still feel it in the front end the faster you ride the less you will feel , it's the characteristic of the Dyna , when you sit there at idle and it shaking look at the front end well all that shaking is the vibration (rubber mounted ) you are STILL feeling ( at slow turns )

I have an '09 street bob and I don't have this problem but I've read other posts about it and it is the tires that Harley started putting on the bikes in 2010. The dealer told you that its normal because it is normal for those tires. It's probably the tread design. I doubt that they could do anything about it anyway since Harley has a contract with the tire mfg. If it really bothers you you'll probably have to get it changed on your own dime.
Thanks, I have seen that thread already and I guess I'll just have to wait and replace the tire. Iam not doing it now since the tires are brand new and I'll just live with the turning vibration..
