Default Polished Triple Trees - maintenance advice

My new front end being built by Motorcyclemetal (Ohlins Cartridges and Vrod lower fork sliders) will have polished 49mm triple trees. I recently picked up a set from a board member and I polished them up and they look mint.

Question is, will I need to polish often to maintain the shine? Would I be better off clear coating, clear powder, chrome, or just leaving them polished?

What would you guys with polished triple trees suggest? What are the pros and cons?

Thanks.

P.S. Once the new front end is on, I'll probably sell the 39mm narrow glide which has chromed HD lower fork sliders and CCE triple trees and CCE Fork Brace and is in mint condition.

I usually just polish mine out with mothers. I have a power ball that takes, at the longest, about 10-15 minutes. They shine for approximtley 2-3 months then I shine them again. I usually polish all of it about every 2-3 months anyways, with the powerball it takes an hour or so to get it right for a while. But anyways, hope this will help you out.

Using the powerball is the quickest and easiest way. I would not clear coat them as my legs on my 07 Low Rider are already chipped. Chrome will be my answer this winter......

Thanks for the suggestions. Just picked up a Powerball. Went with the 3" mini.

Did anyone chrome the trees? If I'm going to do anything, now is the time since the new front end is not yet assembled.

Thanks Joe, I may do that. I'm waiting for a few more parts and planned to contact you about powdercoating them. Will PM you when everything is in.
